The ceremony begins with Swasti Vachan and Shanti Path, followed by taking a Sankalp (vow) to commence the ritual. Next, there is the establishment of Ganesh Sthapana (installation of Lord Ganesha), Kalash Sthapana (installation of the sacred pot), and Lakshmi Sthapana (invocation of Goddess Lakshmi). The puja continues with the installation of Chandra Dev (Moon God), Navgrah (nine planets), Brahma, and Agni (Fire God). This is followed by the invocation of all deities.

The priests then perform the Navgrah Mantra Japa (chanting of mantras for the nine planets), specifically focusing on Chandra Pujan (worship of the Moon God) and Chandra Mantra Japa. The worship continues with the puja of Lord Shiva and Chandra Dev. The Chandra Homam (sacred fire ritual for Moon God) is then conducted, involving offerings of honey, ghee, sugar, tea, Ashtagandh, sandalwood powder, and Navgrah-specific Samidha. The ceremony concludes with Purnahuti (final oblation), Aarti (ritual of light), and distribution of offerings to the priests and Prasad to the Brahmins, dedicated to seeking Chandra Shanti (peace from Moon God).

• For 21,000 Japas: 3-4 priests are needed for one day.
• For 51,000 Japas: 3-4 priests conduct the chanting over three days.
• For 1,25,000 Japas: 3-4 priests are engaged for seven days.
