The puja starts with Ganesh Sthapan (installation of Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles), Kalash Sthapan (placement of the sacred water pot), and Lakshmi Sthapan (installation of Goddess Lakshmi for prosperity). The main installation is Surya Dev Sthapan, invoking the Sun God, who is worshipped as the source of light, energy, and vitality.

Additional installations include Navgrah Sthapan (installation of the nine planetary deities), Brahma Sthapan (installation of Lord Brahma), and Agni Sthapan (invocation of the fire deity). The ceremony continues with the Invocation of all Gods and Goddesses and chanting of the Navgrah Mantra Japa to harmonize the energies of the planets. The main focus of the ritual involves the Surya Mantra Japa and Surya Yantra Puja, where offerings are made to the Sun God to seek his blessings. The puja also includes Lord Shiva Puja and Lord Vishnu Puja to amplify the protective and prosperous energies.

The Surya Homam (fire ritual) is performed with sacred offerings including honey, ghee, sugar, sesame seeds, ashtagandh, sandalwood powder, and Navgrah Samidha (sacred woods) to appease the Sun God and invoke his blessings.
